Welcome to Kirton in Lindsey Diamond Jubilee Town Hall
Kirton in Lindsey Town Hall is a special place, steeped in history and twice saved from the brink of demolition. First in 1897 when it was carried stone by stone up the hill from the ruins of Kirton Prison and rebuilt in its current form in the Market Place. It was rescued again in 2010 through the hard work of the Friends and Trustees of the Hall. After 6 years of hard work the Hall has just undergone a million pound Heritage Lottery funded renovation and extension to make it one of the premier wedding and conference venues in North Lincolnshire. Kirton in Lindsey Town Hall is a charity run by trustees and volunteers. It is funded solely by the income we generate, fundraising, donations and grants.
Did you know?
Kirton in Lindsey Town Hall was built in 1897 using stone from the ruins of Kirton Prison? It was built by the people of Kirton, for the people of Kirton. The Town Hall is not a local authority building, it is 'owned' by every person in Kirton!
This Grade II listed building is now equipped with a lift making it fully accessible for all, and has available for hire a large upper hall with a bar, a small hall downstairs, other meeting rooms and 2 fully equipped state of the art kitchens. It is fully licenced for weddings and civil ceremonies. Outside there is a small walled garden, just perfect for wedding photographs.
It has been the centre of the Kirton community for over a hundred years, hosting dances, auctions, parties and providing an unusually large and striking venue in the centre of the Town. It cuts an imposing view at the head of the Market Place and is an intrinsic part of the friendly community of Kirton. Over the years it fell into disrepair until after 6 years of hard work by local people, particularly Penny Hoey and Jenny Cripps Heritage Lottery granted us nearly £1 million lottery grant to completely renovate and extend the Hall bringing it into the 21st Century. For more information about this story please see the History & Heritage page.
Kirton in Lindsey Diamond Jubilee Town Hall is situated in the central Market Square in Kirton in Lindsey, a 5 minute drive from the A15 and an easy distance from Lincoln, Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Gainsborough. It is a beautiful and imposing building with stunning views across the Trent Valley and is a venue which you will find hard to beat.
